WOOHOOOOOO! Look at that! All of a sudden i noticed something – 1500 YouTube subscribers! Oh course, my first thought was ‘Uh? Wah? HUH?’ then i progressed onto “woohoo”! 🙂

Thank you guys so much! It means a lot to little old me – and so to celebrate…. it’s GIVEAWAY time!

I have a video to share today, which is all about me playing with gelatos on vellum to create a vellum aperture card, and i have hijacked the video for a minute to say thanks and talk about the giveaway. ( it was definitely a bit weird to have my face in front of the camera instead of just my hands!).

All you have to do is leave a comment on youtube or on this post, by 28 February 2015, and i will pick a winner. It’s open to everyone, regardless of your geographical location. What do you win? well, for starters the above stamp set by Paula Pascual called Big Sentiments – i have used it in my video here, and have used it MANY millions of times, because it is just so versatile. You will LOVE it! I imagine i will add some other bits and pieces from my stash too when the time comes.

So why not watch the video, leave a comment, and have a great day!

A Shaker Card Thank You

Last week i shared the card that i made for the consultant/ surgeon that did my spinal surgery last month and i promised to share the other card that i made for the staff at the hospital. I have never experienced anything like it- they were all marvellous, funny, supportive, and just an absolute delight. They really did make the whole thing much easier to deal with, so i wanted to show them my appreciation.

I thought a cute little shaker card would amuse them all, so i created a scene using LawnFawn Joy to the woods stamps & dies to make the birch trees, and then used some bird stamps from my stash to create a flock of birdies. Can you see that i added little nurse hats to them with a copic multi-liner! LOL

I coloured the images using colouring pencils for the birds, and some distress inks and a watercolour brush for the trees – i wanted the birds to pop, and stand out against a muted background.

For the message i just printed this using the computer, but left a space so i could stamp the word ‘wonderful’. I like the way this make the image personal, yet still has a stamped look.

I used some seed needs for the shaker elements – i picked up a 10 bottles at Tiger for £4, so they will last me a long time for sure!

Thanks for stopping by,

For valentines day i would like…THE NEW DISTRESS INK cracked pistachio! I love that we are getting treated to some new colours!

Here’s a little V day card to share with you today using some inkylicious distress ink colours – salty ocean, worn lipstick, spun sugar, evergreen bough, festive berries, picked raspberry…i kinda went all out!

I didn’t have any heart dies so i handout a heart from card and used repositionable glue runner to hold it in place, then used the blending tool to add the colour. i just love the way it turned out. so pretty.

i wanted the colour to be the focal point, so i cut the panel out with a lawn fawn stitched rectangle die, and added some chipboard thickers for the ‘Be Mine’. It needed a little something extra so i hunted through my stamps to fine some pick-and-mix sentiments and used Adirondack espresso dye ink pad – the brown tones coordinated well with the brown thickers.

And to finish, some glitzy sequins.

Good enough to eat! yum!
