Card Candy – A New Embellishment From Craftwork Cards

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to attend the Stitch & Creative Crafts show in Esher where I happened to spend lots of crafting pennies on new and exciting scrapping suppies. One of the stalls which I always enjoy visiting at exhibitions is that of Craftwork Cards, and if you are a seasoned UK Craft expo-goer too, then I’m sure you’ll agree with me.

Craftwork Cards is a great website for buying cardmaking supplies, and also for finding inspiration. Not only does it offer a web-based shopping site, but also monthly newsletters to members, and a fun and friendly blog which showcases many wonderfully designed samples of finished cards and other projects using products from their collections. I’ve recently discovered that Craftwork Cards also hold workshops in their Leeds based studio, where crafters will be supplied with inspiration, good company, and tea and biscuits too – what else could anyone ask for?

I wanted to share with you a fun new product which this craft company has brought to the market, and I think they will be a massive hit with cardmakers and scrapbookers alike. Branded under the name of ‘Card Candy’ these little embellishments are a perfect addition to a project. With their dome like appearance each little piece of Card Candy is remarkably like a brad but ‘without legs to hide’.

Made from the Craftwork Cards signature pearlescent cardstock, these little beauties are sure to give your creations a professional and classy look.   Simply stick to your project using 3D foam pads or a little dot of silicon glue to secure in place. Below is a quick example of how a single piece of ‘card candy’ can be added to a flower to make an elegant embellishment worthy of even the most professional crafters.  At only £1.00 for a packet full of these confetti-like embellishments, this is definitely a craft product which is a credit crunch must have.  Not only are they are bargain, but the wide range of colours available will make your mouth water: the lucious silky browns in the ‘chocolate drop’ collection, the pretty pastel colours in the ‘iced gems’ collection, the blues and greens of the ‘peppermint’ collection and lots more.  To check out the full range, visit www.craftworkcards.co.uk.
