Visit to the Homeland (& The Party Shop)

See larger image

I know, it’s been quiet here on HHC and I’m really sorry, but I have been off to the homeland to visit my family. What a great long weekend away! Fun but exhausting to say the least. Action packed and full of excitement, and I’m delighted to say that i’ve now got over 400 photos to inspire me, a few of which already have been earmarked for Scrapbooking purposes!

When I go back to Northern Ireland (or as us folk like to pronounce it Norn Irn) there are a certain number of essential activities which simply must be performed to make the visit complete:Firstly, it is imperative to see every single member of the family, preferably in one convenient location, such as the big family Barbeque which my darling Mumsy organised last Saturday night (thanks mum). Secondly: We must always schedule a visit to Kennys – the best take away restaurant in the world as far as I am concerned, and enjoy a Chicken Fillet special whilst texting everyone you know to taunt them that you are at Kennys when they are not. A vicious yet delicious experience! And thirdly, every trip to County Fermanagh wouldn’t be complete without a visit to ‘The Party Shop’. Don’t be fooled by the name, indeed it has supplies for every celebratory experience, but the reason for the essential visit to this store is not the balloons and streamers, but the vast selection of craft products and the wall of rubber stamps that makes my mouth drop in awe every single time I go there.

There aren’t many craft stores in Fermanagh as far as I am aware, but if you are ever visiting, this little aladdin’s cave is definitely worth a visit. They keep a great selection of products for both the beginner and the more adventurous crafter and the walls are covered with sample cards to tempt and inspire. The staff are friendly and approachable and are always willing to offer inspiration and owner Irene offers workshops during the summer months too.

During this visit I managed to pick up some half price Woodware acrylic stamps called ‘Dino & Friends’ and the much longed for Adirondack Paint dabbers. I’ve not had a chance to play with them yet, but will be sure to share my creations with you as soon as I do. So please check out The Party Shop if you are ever in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland and also check out my favourite family photos from this weekend.

Thanks for looking.
