Easy Peasy Tag Pocket – Make an Advent Calendar.

Here it is as promised. A quick and easy tutorial on how to make this tag pocket using paper.

To start you need a square piece of paper, I’ve used 6×6 but you can make it smaller if you like.

Fold the paper in half with a bone folder.

From the open end fold back one of the edges by about 1cm, use a bone folder to make the crease crisp.

Turn the paper over, and make a fold a third of the way along from the right edge, and fold back upon itself towards the centre.

Repeat on the other side.

Tuck the corner in between the flap of the other side. This should make the pocket lay flat and remain secure.

Fold in the top two corners to make triangles.

Fold these back and forth to weaken the crease, then fold them inwards so they are hidden in between the two layers of paper. You can put a splodge of glue in there if you want to secure these in place.

Hey presto, you have a pocket that you can use for tags, and the best thing is that you can use both sides – so are great to hang from christmas trees etc.

I used mine on the thank you card at the top of the post, but have incorporated this folding technique into other great projects for example, this advent calendar that I made a good few years ago. The photo isn’t great, but now you know how to make it yourself, go and give it a try.

Spent the last hour making the little envelopes. Love it!

How did you make the little tags and print them on teh computer? I’m looking everywhere for something.

      Hi Michelle,
I used a Quickutz label die to cut out the tags, but you can also buy tag paper punches which would be great for this. Search for ‘tag’ and ‘punch’ at an online store to see what comes up. I have typed this into SimonSaysStamp – click this link to check it out for yourself http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/Categories
