Everyone likes interactive cards, right? Well, this one was double the fun because not only is it a shaker card, but it also has a built in paper circuit with a LED light!
OMG I LOVE IT SO!
Our friend Jennifer (affectionately known as my Craft-Mule due to the fact that her visits to the UK usually include a suitcase full of US crafty products 🙂 heehee) brought me a special treat when she was last over to visit. A pack of LED lights from Chibitronics, along with some batteries and conductive tape! I had never heard of this company before, but my secondary school physics education quickly returned, and it wasn’t long before the whole family were playing with paper and LEDs.
There are blue, yellow and red lights in the set- and immediately i wanted to do a snowy scene with a blue light, a Christmas tree with a yellow star, and a Rudolph with a red nose. So far, i have only managed to do this card.
Here is the video as I walk you through how i have made the card – of course i had to use some Lawn Fawn stamps- they are my mostest, most favourite! I was definitely making it up as a went along, so in hindsight i know that there would be easier ways to reach the final goal, but it all worked out in the end anyway.
Just a little note, there are templates and lots of ideas over on the Chibitronics website- you should check it out if you are interested in playing with some paper circuits of your own.

Hi,
I want to start playing with lights on my Christmas cards. Can you tell me where to get these stick on lights in the UK, please? The only place I have found them is Amazon and the are saying out of stock and don’t know when they will get them back. I have found plenty of tutorials, such as your own, as to how to wire them but that is no good if I can lights! Sorry, it’s hardly your fault, I am just getting very frustrated!!
