Honey Bee Stamps

Hello and Happy Monday to all!

Thanks for joining me today for another card making tutorial, featuring some of the awesome products from Honey Bee Stamps.

Have you all broken your New Years Resolutions yet? 🙂 Rather than giving myself definite resolutions, I now simply set myself some vague goals, and this year I want to get back into using patterned paper for my projects. I have so many pads of paper, and I have been a bit naughty and I have obviously bought more than I use.

So – in this card, you will see some patterned paper – YAY! The polka dot paper in the middle is from an Echo park 6×6 paper pad, and to coordinate with this teal colour, I added a stamped frame around the rectangular panel using the floral cargo stamp from the Little Pickup stamp set. To get a nice mitred corner, I used post it tape so each of my edges would have a crisp diagonal edge at the end. Because of the style of the stamp, you can hardly notice it unless you look really close!

For the flowers, I used the sweet Lotus Blossom stamp and coloured these in using very light tones of copic marker. Then for an added sparkle, I used the sakura stardust glitter pen to create lines on the inside of the stamped edges. It’s really hard to get the full effect on camera, in real life it is so breathtaking!

For the sentiment, I paired up the beautiful honeycut die with a stamp from the Beautiful Life stamp set, but this time I brought a dark grey colour to the palette. I think it contrasts nicely with the pink, and still makes the teal colour really POP!

And of course a card isn’t complete without some embellishments, is it? 🙂 I used my multi medium to add some star sequins from the Poinsettia sequin mix, and a few clear dew drops as well.

Hello everyone,

I was a very lucky girl and got some new crafty products for Christmas, one of which was the WRMK Fuse tool, and I thought I would use it for my project today – a fun, shaker card perfect for Valentines day, which features the Little Pick Up stamp and Sending You Sentiments Stamp sets and the Poinsettia sequin mix from Honey Bee Stamps.

After reading some tips online, I let my fuse tool get nice and hot before using it – they recommend 10 minutes at least. Whilst it was heating, I stamped the pickup image from the Honey Bee Stamps Little Pickup set, as well as the heart cargo, onto Neenah cardstock with memento ink, and reached for my copic markers.

I had this heart die cut from the teal chevron patterned paper on my desk from my project last week (click here to see it), and I thought it would make the perfect shape for a cute Valentines tag. So I die cut another heart and glued the two die cuts back to back.

I then stuck the same heart die onto a scrapbook pocket using washi tape, and carefully used the fuse tool to trace around the die, making sure to sprinkle some sequins inside before sealing the top. I used the poinsettia sequin mix, which are a gorgeous mix of reds, whites and clear sequins.

I used my crop-a-dile to add an eye to both the plastic and paper heart, and then threaded a piece of seam binding ribbon through them. Before tying a pretty bow, I added a cute silver charm for extra fun!

I stuck the truck and hearts onto the front using some glue dots, and then decided to add a sentiment on the back of the paper. I used stamps from the Sending You Sentiments set, and heat embossed these with liquid platinum embossing powder from Ranger. Lucky for me, this sentiment fit perfectly inside one of the smaller heart dies and was the perfect final touch for this sweet shaker tag!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy crafting!

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope you have all had a wonderful 2016 and here’s to a fantastic 2017!!

To start the year, I decided to do something a bit different- use patterned paper! I realised last week that I hardly ever use my paper packs any more, even though I have SO many in my stash! So I challenged myself to give it a whirl – and of course, I reached for this fun tel chevron paper! Isn’t it beautiful?!

To make this card I cut one rectangle from white card stock and one from this teal cardstock using the Lawn Fawn large stitched rectangle die. Then, holding them together with washi tape, I ran the two panels through my cuttlebug with a large heart die (die from Xcut).

Next I grabbed some printed vellum and stuck this in between the two layers with some tape runner. I am pretty sure I bought this vellum in Glasgow about 12 years ago! Better on a card than sitting in a drawer for another decade! LOL

Next I used two of the heart dies to cut a frame from gold mirror card so I could frame up the middle section of my card. I love that it coordinates with the pattern on the vellum, and also gives an elegant feel to the card.

For the greeting, I stuck from Stick-It adhesive onto the back of a piece of craft foam, then ran this through the cuttlebug with the Honey Bee Stamps Prayers die. The adhesive helps the intricate shape from stretching and also means that I don’t have to use wet glue to adhere the foam – as sometimes foam can be a bit of a pickle and can resist glue.

After I had stuck the foam in place, I decided to add the embossed greeting on top which is from the Sending You Sentiments set. It would probably have been best to do this before sticking everything in place, as the heat gun can warp the foam and the vellum, but I got around this covering the project by a craft mat, only exposing the bit where the embossing powder was. I also made sure my heat tool was nice and hot first, so the powder would melt quickly.

To coordinate with the gold, I reached for the Autumn Sunset sequin mix – I love the mixture of sizes! I also picked a few white sequins out of the Poinsettia sequin mix!

Thanks for stopping by – and I hope you are inspired to use up some of your stash as well – even if they aren’t quite a decade old!

Happy Crafting!
