Clean and simple
And quick. Yep, thats the kind of crafting that is key right now…if I want to do any at all that is. I swear being a mom requires more time management than any other job I’ve known.
On Thursday we went to our first postnatal class – a baby club at the local children’s centre. It was great to get out of the house and to meet some other mummies in the area. The best bit was seeing the other babies which ranged from 4 weeks to 8 months, and seeing how alert and smiley they were. There was a little boy called Dominic that was 6 weeks old and he was sooooo much more awake and alert than Piper is now. And none of that dry skin that Piper has been having. His Mummy said his dry skin only cleared up this week, so that gives me hope that my little princess will soon be flaky-free. It was a little reminder that we will soon be having more interesting conversations, and that every day really does make a difference, so we should relish each one, even the crybaby days.
Todays card – is for Roz. Rozzy T worked with me for over a year, and right from day one she excelled at everything. I knew it was only a matter of time before she would make her way up the ranks. She worked hard on her development, and her determination showed every day. It made me so proud to hear that she was going to be promoted to manage her own centre. wooooooohooooo! And what better way to show my love than to send her a wee good luck card.
Happy weekend everyone.xox

Wooooo. Last night was the first rough night we’ve had with Piper..lets just say all three of us didn’t get much sleep. But it turned out okay because I was lucky to have Craig home with me today. It was good because I didn’t feel like I was going it alone throughout the day, but it was also exhausting because we had made plans for the day, so it meant we were rather out of routine for the whole day.
It felt so wonderful to show her off to friends and work colleagues today. All the compliments and coos just fill us with pride, so much so that we positively glow with delight. However… although my sweet darling is sleeping at the moment, I have a horrible feeling deep in my gut that I may be awake all night again.
But isn’t this one of the delights of parenthood? I keep telling myself that there will be days like this, but for every sleepless night there will be a multitude of wonderful moments shared with the little one, so precious that it makes it all worth while.
Every day I try to set myself little goals. Just little ones. Yesterday my goal was to print a document, to have a shower and be able to blow dry my hair, and to hoover the corridor. I never got to hoover, but to be honest i think that was more due to laziness rather than time constraints. lol.
Tomorrow I want to do a little crafting. Not much, maybe just half an hour? Twenty minutes? I’ve even brought a few bits and pieces into the dining room so that I can seize the moment (should it arrive!).
But for now, this is one of the other Mums day cards that I managed to quickly put together for Granny Oman last week…from Piper of course!
enjoy.

HI everyone,
Another Mothers’ day card to share…yes, I know Mothers’ day is over for another year, but cards like this can also be used for birthdays or just because.
Once again I dug out my scraps to make this funky card, and had lots of fun paper piecing the cute little owls which are a Hampton Arts Critter Stamp set. I really liked this stamp set, and thought it was funky that they came in a foot long strip…but its now one of those stamps that doesn’t quite fit into the storage box with my other stamps. In a way its a good thing because it jumps out at me, but its also a little frustrating that it doesn’t fit properly like the rest of my stamps. Grr!
