Some times the best things come in small packages, and the same is sure true about these flower sequins from Meiflower. One of the items in the goodie bag that you can win in our current competition is these flower sequins. They are tiny and sweet and already my head is packed full of different ways to use them.

Today I want to share how i have used them to accent a design. As they are little flowers, i thought that they would look lovely with a flourish stamp, to create the impression of flowers on a vine. I started to look through my stamp collection but then this cuttlebug embossing folder came to mind -perfect!

First I made my own background paper using distress inks in broken china, faded jeans and chipped sapphire. I love using distress inks to cover a piece of white card as this gives a great multi-tonal effect, rather than using a plain monocolour piece of cardstock.

Instead of using the folder to emboss the card, I used the folder the other way around to deboss the image. OKAY, so the next bit was time consuming…but SO worth it! To create a faux letterpress look, I took a white gel pen and drew along all the debossed image. All that remained was to add a few finishing touches – first I stamped a greeting and mounted onto die cut card and mounted onto the card along with some of this adorable scalloped edge ribbon from Meiflower. All that remained was to add some flower sequins and seed beads to the design, and what a difference that made!

Tiny little embellishments that give a big WOW effect, don’t ya think?

It has been months, and the craft room still isn’t just right!

I know that it’ll never really be perfect, because a room that is used will never be pristine, but what i do mean is that I still have a few things in boxes (I SHALL empty these reaaaaallllly soon) and there are also things lurking in places that I no longer remember. Eeek! SO frustrating! I really need to make sure I label the storage boxes better.

Although its not perfect, I can still say with my hand on my heart that I LOVE my craft room.

A litte space. A haven. Somewhere that is MINE! An escape pod. I can paint it, decorate it, mould it to be what ever i want it to be! yippeeeee! 🙂 Creative freedom is bliss!

Before Christmas we took a trip to a craft store on the other side of London, and I picked up some Making Memories 8″ chipboard letters. I had never seen these before, but wanted to buy a million of them! Unfortunately, there were only a few left as they were in the bargain bucket, but I was thrilled to find the last ‘L’.

BING!! light bulb! I knew that this was going to make its way onto my craft room wall.

I found them this weekend when I was pulling my glue gun out of a cardboard box (oh my goodness, it took me ages to find it), and about 10 minutes later, with the help of some Black soot distress ink, my chipboard pieces were black, and became another part of my craft room that i just love!
