This was definitely a product I was keeping my eyes open for as I visited every stall. What are Mini Misters, I hear you ask? Well, simply put, these are skinny little vessels that have a pump feature. This means that you can fill it with a liquid then spray it unto a medium of your choice.

So why pay money for a mini mister when you can buy spray bottles in most discount stores? But these aren’t just any spray bottle, the nozzle is very fine which means that the spray from the bottle creates more of a mist (hence the name mini misters!) This feature gives the user a lot more control over where to spray and it’s easy peasy to get an even coverage if that is the look you are going for. Another great feature is that they are compact and easily stored, which means that instead of having one spray bottle that you have to keep rinsing out every time you wish to fill it with a different colour of ink mixture, you can easily and affordably have a mini mister for each colour. And whats more, there is a really cool organiser available for them too!

I hope to do another review of mini misters in the near future to explain different ways they can be used, and what type of liquids you can put inside them to get great artistic effects. Until then, check out Tim Holtz’s video demo review where he shows you how he likes to use these little beauties!

Home Mini Book – Number 36

See larger image

Hey everyone, and thanks for coming back to see the last page of my Home Mini Book. If you have followed this series of posts, you will know that we have taken a journey through my life. We have seen a page for every single location which I have called my home, right the way from my childhood home where I learned to walk and talk over 25 years ago, to the present day, where I spend my daily life with my hubby Craig and kitty cat Miya.

This page is different from all the rest. After all, when I sat down to design and make every other page, I was looking back and revisiting the memories which stuck out in my mind as I remembered each of these locations. But it’s definitely more difficult to ‘remember’ the present, or indeed the future. We’ve only been in this house for a short time, and who knows what adventures are yet to come?

Did you notice that this is the first page where I have actually made the roof a different colour to the rest of the page? This is because I think this really makes it look more like a house. Most of the other pages were about flats or apartments, but there is something about a house that seems more permanent, and more ‘grown up’. I am edging closer to ticking off the items on the wish list, or ‘to do list’ of my life, and it feels great to be in a place in your life where you feel happy.

Who knows how many more homes I will live in throughout the rest of my life. All I know is that in each and every place, there will be good times and bad times, joyful moments and painful moments, but at the end of the day, life is too short to waste, and every moment you experience is a potentially great memory to hold dear in the future. Life your life without regrets, and remember the moments that counted.

A house – finally a house, with a garden, a real fireplace, a dishwasher, a craft room and a cat that goes potty in the toilet! It’s not our own house… but it’ll do for now!

I think this is my favourite page in the whole mini book. For those who are keeping count, you may know that this is the second last page, which means that this home was the most recent place we lived. I knew from the start what theme would dominate this page, as this flat was the venue of a much anticipated moment of my life.

Ok, it sounds cheesy, but this was the first flat we rented where our landlord allowed us to have a pet. It was so exciting. I looked in newspapers, classified ads, the internet, everywhere just to find the perfect kitty that would complete our little family. Once we found a litter of potential fur babies, we organised a home visit to see the kitty we had in mind. Yes, I admit it – I saw her, small and frail, only two weeks old, I held her and instantly wanted her. But we had to wait until she was ready.

Every two weeks we went back to visit her and the rest of her family, until one day we were ready to take her home. It was a few days before Christmas and we had just moved into the new flat. We unpacked the living room to extent of making it safe for little furry adventurers, and then set off to bring back our newest family member. We didn’t have any food in the flat. We didn’t have a bed to sleep on, and didn’t know where to find anything as there were boxes everywhere. But it didn’t matter to me. I will always remember that first night, I put Miya in her bed and lay down to sleep on the living room floor a few yards away with the one and only pillow we managed to find. It was pitch black, and I was shattered from the move, and from all the excitement. All of a sudden, I hear a tiny little squeak and feel a little ball of fur snuggle up to my neck. I put her back into her bed and lay back down. Not two minutes later, she was back again, snuggled up to the warmth of my skin, tucked between my neck and the pillow. She didn’t budge all night.

This flat wasn’t pretty, it wasn’t new, it was nothing special. But it was in this flat that we had the opportunity of having a pet of our own. We waited six years for that day to come, so this will always be the one memory that I will treasure about our home at number 1 Eversleigh.

Finally, after six years waiting, planning, hoping, dreaming, a landlord that allows us to have a pet. The excitement, the thrill, a little tiny bundle of fluff. Miya makes her way into our lives, and into our hearts.
